 We have had a few experiences where only one of us was attracted to the other party or parties. So, when this happens we discuss it and make the decision not to play, out of respect for each other.
When we used to frequent the clubs, and as people arrived...we would look at the arrivals, then say to each other "yes" or "no" as a signal to each other...
It seems to work for us.

 When I played as a couple, we had the worst luck with finding couples that were normal and attractive to us. We met a lot of couples where the female half had to be totally drunk to be interested... and a lot of couples where the male half only wanted to see (and direct) his lady getting fucked... and a lot of couples where the guy wasn't able to achieve and/or maintain an erection once the action started, or who decided he wasn't ok with his lady getting some dick after all... basically couples never worked for us two on two. Groups and threesomes worked much better for us since taking one for the team was never an option.

 yes it is usually the female that decides on the "No". Not liking the other partys man/dick/hairy chest/beard...... as nakedcock4u and reddenrose say. Itthen becomes a team discusion. But this should be sorted out prior on most cases with transfers of pictures. It is in swap/swinger/meetings that it becomes awkward. Viva the web.

 We voted "depends". We Used to say a flat out No, but have come to realize that as two substantially different people, { age, fitness, desires, and just likes and dislikes... } we probably appeal to vastly different potential playmates. Ergo..
We now consider a little more flexability on this issue, to allow for the pleasure of the other one of us who's the current object of lust.
But, having said that, it's still a matter of degrees. Neither of us has to accept someone Waaaay beyond what we want just for a single night of joy. If it isn't a close call, we'll just move along.
Like all things to do with "The Lifestyle", there are variabilities to consider.

 It would depend on the situation:
If your Hot-Wife is matched good but the man is not, press on.
If the other woman wants the wife and not you, seat back and have a beer.
